Why Do The Republicans Feel Empowered?
By design, strategy, and low voter turnout have resulted in Democrats losing power.
As of the 2016 General Election, Republicans control: 33 Governorships 54 Senators 248 House of Representatives (Including 1 Delegate 67 State Partisan Legislative Chambers For these reasons, they feel empowered. If not at the federal/national level, the country can turn back the dial at the state and local levels. In the modern era, for many communities, socioeconomic and political progress is granted primarily through the Democratic Party. That progress can be eroded while we sleep; late night votes and through executive orders. We must pay attention!
